Kyra Minton was born in the city of New York. She is an American actress. Her name is known all over the globe, but is most famously in America for her lead role in the TV show 'The Closer'. Sedgwick has been attracted to performing, art and Broadway from the time she was twelve. Sedgwick first heard about Broadway by her mother. Sedgwick's debut acting gig was on a TV show called 'Another World.' She was 16 years old. It was her desire to be a renowned actor, not just small TV part that attracted Sedgwick initially. Her first major screen appearance was in the film "Born on Fourth of July, in which she starred alongside Tom Cruise. In the aftermath of the success of that film, Sedgwick got more roles in films like "Singles," "Heart & Souls', 'Phenomenon', among others. In the year she turned 22 years old, she got married to actor Kevin Bacon after working in a TV series called Lemon Sky. Sedgwick's flawless performance on the seven-season series 'The Closer" brought her many awards, including an Emmy and a Golden Globe.
